Soil Erosion Control

Photo: Illinois EPA Urban Manual Gallery

Soil erosion can pose a challenge on land that is being developed. The sediment that is lost in runoff can damage surface water resources (including community water supplies) and degrade wildlife habitat. So proper type and placement of erosion control is critical.

The Illinois Urban Manual listed in the Fact Sheets is intended for use as a technical reference by developers, contractors, planners, engineers, government officials, and others involved in inspection of soil erosion and
sediment control best management practices on construction sites in Illinois.
